Green Corral Project

Clean sidewalks make Bangkok more walkable. That’s why we’re installing green waste enclosures citywide to keep trash in place, ensure timely collection, and prevent scattering from wind, rain, or animals, as well as blocked drains

What's wrong?

Not enough trash bins where waste is heavily dumpe

Winds or floods can blow trash bags onto the street, blocking drains

Garbage is torn open by dogs or rats searching for food

Trash left on walkways makes sidewalks less accessible

What is a "Khok Khiew"?

  • “Khok Khiew” is a foldable waste enclosure designed to organize temporary garbage storage in communities
  • Composed of 5 steel pieces and 4 plastic mesh sheets, assembled into a rectangle
  • It has an openable lid and no bottom panel
  • Designed to keep trash neatly contained in a set space
  • Includes hooks or locks for connecting multiple units, so the waste area can be expanded as needed

How does it work?

Set up in high-waste areas with a minimum sidewalk width of 2 meters

2

Khok Khiew is available 6:00 PM – 5:30 AM. No garbage bags outside these hours

3

Dispose of waste on time. Adjust Khok Khiew size to match waste volume
