6 ways to a green community
1. Reduce the amount of waste: Start with simple things from ourselves, such as bringing cloth bags when shopping, choosing products with less packaging, using reusable containers instead of foam, refraining from accepting plastic bags, and avoiding the use of single-use plastics
2. Separate waste: Separate waste into 4 types as follows:
- Organic waste: Food scraps, leaves, vegetable scraps, fruits, egg shells, etc. can be used to make compost, organic fertilizer, or to raise earthworms
- Recyclable waste: Paper, plastic, glass, metal, milk cartons, cans, etc. can be recycled to produce new products.
- General waste: Plastic bags contaminated with food, disposable diapers, snack bags, etc.
- Hazardous waste: Light bulbs, batteries, expired medicine, spray cans, etc.
3. Make compost: Turn organic waste into natural fertilizer to nourish the soil
4. Reuse: Repair clothes, furniture, various items
5. Recycle: Separate recyclable waste and sell it to second-hand shops or join the waste bank project
6. Collect, Transport and Store: Dispose of waste according to the correct type and time
