How to discard Cooking oil

  Pour the used oil into a tightly closed, heat-resistant container and wait for the oil to cool completely.

  Use a sieve or strainer to separate food residue, vegetable scraps, and meat scraps from the oil.

  Donate or sell used oil to agencies that accept it for biodiesel production.

Do not pour cooking oil down the drain, as it will clog the pipes and harm the environment. If you are not comfortable storing it as a liquid, you can add a powder that hardens the oil to make it easier to dispose of.
