This July 19th, join Nan Fest x Loei Art Fes Exchange Program, a public forum on community art events.

The Multidisciplinary Art Department of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, together with the Art Festival Creators Group, would like to invite you to join the discussion activity “Nan Fest x Loei Art Fes Exchange Program”, two art festivals that drive local culture through the participation process of people in the community to open up a space for exchanging knowledge from experiences working in local art, community art, and groups of artists from various fields.

“Nan Fest: A Festival of Nan People, for Nan People, and Connecting People” and “Loei Art Fes (LAF): A Contemporary Art Festival of the Soul” are two festivals that play an important role in creating spaces for diverse cultural expression through stories, people, and spaces in different contexts by providing local artists with a truly creative space. These are art spaces that are not separated from people’s lives, but are still embedded in the way of life and historical traces of each area. They are also a mechanism for communities to participate in determining the direction of their own cultural development and create a network of cooperation among festival workers that will enable the ecosystem of art festivals to continue steadily.

This discussion therefore focuses on sharing knowledge and jointly extracting lessons from experiences from those behind the festival who play a role in driving culture in the area, as well as disseminating works resulting from the collaboration of artists in local communities into new contexts, in order to provide an opportunity for Bangkok Art and Culture Centre to be a central space to spark conversations in exchanging ideas, sharing experiences in organizing community art festivals, reflecting feedback from audiences to artists, in order to connect people through cultural diversity to respect differences, and create a process of cultural inheritance to continue in the world of contemporary art.

Activities in addition to the seminar include:

• Performance by the band "Sawbat"
• Short and feature films produced from the activities of two festivals: Nan Fest and Loei Art Fes.
